The Ungrateful Son

A man and his wife were sitting by the door of their house. They had a roasted chicken in front of them and were about to eat. Then the man saw his old father coming.

He quickly took the chicken and hid it, because he did not want his father to have any. The old man came, took a drink, and went away. Now the son wanted to put the chicken back on the table.

But when he picked it up, it had turned into a huge toad. The toad jumped onto his face and stayed there. It never went away. If anyone tried to remove it, the toad looked at them angrily, as if it would jump in their face.

So no one dared to touch it. The ungrateful son had to feed the toad every day, otherwise it would feed on his face. And so he walked around the world without any rest.
